  • The rail and ball screw as well as the ball nut are from http://www.mcmaster.com/
  • The rest is all machined Aluminum
  • The spool is replaceable or interchangeable with the thumb screw, and it has a tendency to come
    loose in operation .
  • The spool is split in half and threaded together so that it can be unscrewed and separated. Then the
    wound material can be removed.
  • The threading is in the reverse of the rotation so that it will not come loose in operation.
  • A cardboard tube is placed on the spool to fascinate removal of the wound material.
  • There is a notch in the side of the master spool so that the material can be secured
  • The motors, drives and power supply are from Http://www.automationdirect.com The software that
    controls it is from http://www.artofcnc.ca/
  • Mach 3 with the custom screen created by Brian Barker at the CNC workshop.  (he is a great guy
    and a programing genius)
  • The partly functional screen is available at the top of the screen.
  • The code has been modified to work better with my machine
  • Fishing line wound on a spool. The line is laid down in a nice and flat level wind.
  • The random out of order winds are from when I cut the line.
